Witness hard floor versatility and no-frills functionality existing in perfect harmony with the Mars Vanguard HF14.

If you’re looking for a functional camper trailer at a star price, Mars Campers’ hard floor offering may just send you over the moon. Not only is the Vanguard exceptional value for money, it is also very well-constructed. It even supplies an electric brake control unit worth $500 in the package price.

EXTERIOR

Behind the axle is a 70L stainless steel water tank recessed well up above the axle clearance level. Plumbing and wiring is not an afterthought with the Vanguard, with proper channels and supports underside to keep them out of harm’s way.

A stone screen with replaceable mesh and a large steel toolbox with automotive seals and fully lockable gas-strut lid also ride out front. The spare wheel is securely mounted between the screen and the toolbox, as well as the winch.

The tub itself is made from 2mm galvanised and Hammertone painted steel and the construction seems very strong.

INTERIOR

The tent folds out really easily with twin gas struts taking most of the load. The framework sets the canvas instantly with minimal pole adjustment required for tensioning the waterproof 14oz rip-stop canvas.

The main tent is nice and high, maximising the sense of space within its 4400x1700mm footprint, and when you open all of the awnings on the spacious windows and doors with the security of midge mesh screens it feels like a true home away from home. There is a large doorway on either side of the tent for convenience, both fitted with midge-proof mesh.
