Ford Coolabah, classic 70s Aussie motorhome, Loa 25 or 7.7m, one of 8 professionally built by Centurion/Re-Car for Ford executives costing $75,000 when new and now 95% restored by the original manufacturer, including:- fully rebuilt Ford 351 V8 motor with hardened valve guides to accept LPG, roller bearings on the new electronic distributer, high flow race engine water pump, reconditioned Allison automatic transmission, reconditioned diff and balanced tail shaft. Built on a tough D series truck chassis, the airbrakes have been fully re-conditioned, steering and suspension re- conditioned; all running gear is A-1. The body was stripped back to a bare frame and then both 12 and 240 V systems re-wired, basically everything has been done such as plumbing, flooring, new windows fitted over the one piece fibreglass outer skin, new seals, vents, locks, windscreen wiper cam and motor assembly, new body fittings everywhere and dont forget the foldaway stainless BBQ. Inside, the whole vehicle has been tastefully re-trimmed, is very functional and with the extra headroom feels light and airy. Accomodation is for up to six with multiple configurations; but if you are looking for the perfect grey nomad tourer for the big trip around Oz, then she is super comfortable for two, is a real head turner and definitely a talking point around the BBQ while enjoying a refreshing drink somewhere in the middle of nowhere. She has new floor coverings the stove and fridge is reconditioned, a new cartridge toilet has been fitted, new stereo, inverter, battery charger and so much more! The big V8 just cruises along at low revs and provides plenty of passing power when needed, twin fuel tanks with cross over pumps and capacity of approx 300L means you can travel bigger distances between stops. The water tank is 220L and the pressure hot water is just like showering at home. The boot space is massive and storage abounds both inside and out. There are still a few jobs required to finish her off which are all minor but our dear old Dad simply cannot work on her anymore, so it is time to pass the baton. We have all of the original history from day one and the restoration is fully documented with photos and receipts for over $130,000 showing how thorough this 10 year project was; can supply with Victorian RWC and Rego if required. Go on dare to be different, this is not your standard Jayco, dont follow the herd across Australia, go your own way!
