Winter Warmth at the Waterfront

Holiday Haven Parks are pulling out all the stops to bring travellers back to Shoalhaven

As Australia gradually opens up for domestic travel, many of us are eager to hit the road as soon as possible. For their part, our regional tourism providers are also pretty keen to see us return. Many have had an appalling year, first with devastating bushfires and then with the total loss of business due to the COVID-19 shutdown.

One of the many regions that has been severely affected is Shoalhaven on the southern New South Wales coast. Back in the March edition of Caravan World, when we spoke of the importance of tourist dollars to the recovery of so much of Australia’s bushfire-affected regions, we touched on how fires had cut Shoalhaven off from the rest of the country. This meant that the picturesque coastal towns, despite being untouched by the fires directly, had lost almost all of the summer tourism business they depend upon to survive.

The best thing that we can do to help as travellers is to return to these regions as soon as it’s safe and legal for us to do so and bring our tourist dollars with us.

To help get you moving into the Shoalhaven region, Holiday Haven Parks have put in place a number of protective measures. Holiday Haven have 12 parks throughout Shoalhaven, from beachside camping spots to isolated inland retreats near lakes or rivers. At each of them, express check in processes, frequent cleaning of high-traffic areas, hand sanitiser stations and social distancing measures mean guests can visit and enjoy the facilities without putting themselves or others at risk.

Holiday Haven Parks also have a range of special offers available now, to help get you out the door and onto Shoalhaven’s beautiful waterfronts. A winter special running until 31 August will help you take advantage of the extra space and serenity that come with travelling in the quieter part of the year. All standard powered sites across the Holiday Haven Group are reduced to $28 and stays of three nights or more in any cabin, ensuite or premium powered site will receive 30 per cent off.

Even outside of the winter season, members receive a 10 per cent discount on all bookings. At $20 for a two-year membership, that’s pretty much a no-brainer, especially for travellers from Sydney or Canberra, only two to three hours away from Shoalhaven.

Many of Holiday Haven’s parks are dog friendly, so there’s no need to leave furry family members behind. For those pampered pooches who enjoy a little touch of luxury, selected parks also offer dog friendly cabins.

If you’re ready to hit the road again after too many months trapped inside dreaming of freedom, and you’re keen for your tourist business to go to a beautiful region in real need of an economic shot in the arm, you can find out more about Holiday Havens lake and beachfront parks throughout Shoalhaven, and all their special offers, at holidayhaven.com.au.
