Government eases the cost of living with caravan rego cut

More than 120,000 caravan owners will benefit from a 40% reduction in registration fees, another NSW Government initiative to ease cost of living pressures.

The change applies to caravans and camper trailers weighing between 255kg and 4.5 tonnes, with savings ranging from $46 to $471.

Commenting on the discount, NSW Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight, Melinda Pavey said, “This saving puts more money back in the pockets of grey nomads, families and caravanning enthusiasts, and encourages more people to go camping and caravanning around NSW.”

Savings will automatically apply to new registrations and renewals due from 1 November 2018.

Pensioners who elect to have free registration for a vehicle other than their caravan or camper trailer, are still be eligible for the 40% reduction. Caravan and camper trailer owners will still be required to pay the standard NSW registration fees including the annual fee of $65.
