The rise of Signature Camper Trailers

Some younger camper manufacturers have become extremely well known, and we spoke to Signature Camper Trailers to gather insights about their rise in the industry.

How did Signature Camper Trailers get their start and how has it changed since then?

Signature Camper Trailers was established in 2017 with a desire to build the highest quality Camper Trailer and improve on the campers available on the market which fell short in their design and quality. The original owner of Signature had a strong building and camping background, and used this as the base to design and develop Campers which were built tough yet added a touch of luxury.

In 2019, the new owners took over Signature Campers after seeing the quality, attention to detail and focus on Customer Service. Signature Campers was unique in the Camper Trailer game where the team prioritised quality and customer service over simply just numbers and quantity. Since 2019 Signature Campers has become one of the fastest-growing Camper Trailer brands in Australia with models shipped all over Australia and showrooms in 4 states. The objectives and priorities of Signature haven’t changed and we still priorities customer service and quality first — we’re now just a whole lot bigger!

So new to the game yet rising fast, who has been your key market for this rise in popularity?

Signature Camper Trailers products and offerings are ideal for the Young Family and Baby Boomer markets — our range of models means we have offerings available for almost any family type but our class and design of Forward Folds and Hybrids make us a favourite amongst early retirees, young families and those who love our passion and quality. What would you say Signature Camper Trailers is known for, what makes it different to other manufacturers?

Signature Campers is known for the attention to detail, quality of builds and focus on Customer Service.

As Signature Camper Trailers has grown into quite a successful brand, what would you attribute this success to?

Our Customers love our products as much as we do, even though we are a young company we have numerous repeat customers who have updated or outgrown their original purchase and now have a bigger or newer Signature Camper model. When Customers compare our quality and attention to detail in the Campers we produce we always come first.

Which Signature Camper model is your staff’s favourite?

Our Deluxe II is an Off Road Weapon — the guys (and girls) in the workshop love the simplicity and ease of use with this particular camper. It provides a stack of options and upgrades which make it perfect for a young traveller, full annex setups for families or simple, light and easy camping for couples. When wanting to simply grab a Camper and head away for a weekend nothing beats the Deluxe II.

Do customers have the same favourite model? If not, which is the best-selling?

Our Hybrid Camper — Iridium 13 has quickly become a favourite — focusing on storage, quality and ease of living, the Iridium 13 is light enough to tow with most small 4WDs and utes and is packed with features as standard inclusions.

Where are Signature Camper Trailers made?

The base camper (chassis and body) are made in our factory in China. Utilising our own designs and production lines we have very high quality control over our processes & camper production before being loaded and sent to our Sydney workshop.

A key difference in our products is using locally sourced components and upgrades, including Enerdrive Electrical Systems, Lovells Suspension Packages, Ark Jockey Wheels, Webasto full Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning Systems, Truma Hardware etc. Each one of our campers goes through an extensive production cycle in our Sydney Workshop and Quality Assurance before customer hand over.

As you’ve said, your campers go through extensive quality assurance, so how do you test your products?

Everyone in our team are passionate 4WDers, travellers and campers. With a range of ages and sizes of families, all our campers get a great workout — the campers are used regularly from weekends in the Blue Mountains to full outback trips touring the Victorian High Country, Queensland and Border Country. It’s this use by our team and our families that gives us true real life feedback and experience in our products and the strengths and weaknesses in all our products.

Signature’s campers have been used throughout Australia’s terrains internally so what would be your top three destinations you recommend everyone visit?

  • Cameron’s Corner & the surrounding towns (Milparinka, White Cliffs etc)

  • Cape York (it’s everyone’s Bucket List destination)

  • Wauchope and Ellenborough Falls

What three tips would you give your customers to enjoy Signature campers to their fullest potential?

  • Take family and friends for the experience.

  • Bring plenty of good food and enjoy the cook-up.

  • Turn off your phone and look around.

With your industry experience, what piece of advice would you give both first-time and experienced buyers?
